Today's Thought
There’s so much power in the words that we speak. Many times it’s the very thing that will direct our lives and the lives of those around us. Sometimes it’s the words we say but sometimes it’s the ones we don’t. So often we wait until it’s too late to speak words of comfort and encouragement to the ones we love the most. There are a lot of things that are out of our control in life, but the words that we speak over others and ourselves are something powerful that we can control with the help of the Holy Spirit. As He changes our hearts, the words that come out of our mouths change as well.  Life and death are in the tongue and as we align our words with truth, we will see the tangible impact in all of the lives around us. Don’t let today go by without encouraging someone and sharing your appreciation of them.
Prayer Focus
Father, thank you for the words you’ve spoken over me. Give me eyes to see those around me that need encouraging words today. Give me the courage to tell family members and friends how much I love and appreciate them today. Don’t let me get distracted by the fullness of my schedule today without making my encouraging words a priority. Help me say these phrases often to those in my life and more than anything let me mean them from the depths of my heart: “I love you”, “I’m proud of you”, I’m sorry”, “Please forgive me”.
