Shift your focus from the WHAT IF’S to the WHAT IS!

Worry is a CHOICE.

Philippians 4:5b-7 (NIV)
The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Worry is a conversation you have with yourself about things you cannot change or control. Prayer is a conversation you have with God about things He can change and control.

“God, I believe that You are greater.”

John 8:44 (NIV)
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The 4 Lies of Worry:

  1. Something really bad is going to happen.

John 16:33 (NIV)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

When something bad does happen, Jesus will give you what you need to overcome it.

  1. The more you worry about it, the better your odds of avoiding it.

Matthew 6:25-26, 34 (NIV)

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.”

Control what you CAN control and trust GOD to control what you CAN’T.

Do all you can do TODAY and trust God with what you can’t do about TOMORORW.

  1. I’m a born worrier, I have no choice.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

  1. By worrying I can control the outcome

Luke 12:25-26 (NIV)
Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? 26 Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?

“God I repent of trying to be You. Have your will and Your way in my life.”

Your heavenly father is WITH you TODAY and He will be WAITING on you TOMORROW.

I Peter 5:6-7 (NIV)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

Matthew 11:28-29 (NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
