We find a PROTOCOL to the PRESENCE of God.

Exodus 33:11 (NLT)
Inside the Tent of Meeting, the LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend.

PRAYER is a PRIVILEGE not an OBLIGATION.

The 7 Steps:

  1. The Outer Court: Give God Thanks

Psalm 100:4 (NIV)
Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.

I know every GOOD thing I have comes from GOD.

James 1:17 (NIV)
Every good and perfect gift is from above…

I will not let WHAT I WANT rob me of WHAT I HAVE.

Ecclesiastes 6:9 (NIV)
Better what the eye sees than the roving of the appetite.

I’ll turn every BLESSING I have into PRAISE.

Psalm 63:4-5 (NIV)
I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

  1. The Brazen Altar: Focus on the Cross.

Romans 5:6 (NLT)
When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.

Isaiah 53:5 (NIV)
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.

Hebrews 4:14-16 (NIV)
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

3. The Laver: Offer My Life to God.

Romans 12:1 (NIV)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

  1. The Candlestick: Invite the work of the Holy Spirit in my life.

2 Timothy 1:6-7 (NLT)
This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

  1. The Table of Shewbread: Claim the Promises in God’s Word.

Matthew 4:4 (NIV)
Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NIV)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes…(Take) the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and requests.

  1. The Altar of Incense: Worship His Name

Right before you parted the last curtain– went where God was-There was a small altar burning incense, coals from the Brazen Altar –incense–24 hours a day – the sweetest smell to God is worship being lifted up.

Praise is thanking God for what He’s done, Worship is thanking God for who He is.

Psalm 95:6-7 (NIV)
Come, let us bow down in worship let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

Worships isn’t just the SONGS we SING, it’s the LIFE we LIVE.

Romans 12:1 (NIV)
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

  1. The Ark of the Covenant: Intercede for others.

1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NIV)
I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people —for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
Let’s make prayer our FIRST RESPONSE, not our LAST RESORT.
