Luke 10:38-39 (ESV)
38 Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving.

Mary mentioned 3 times in the Bible… all involving feet.

Jesus is less concerned about what we DO for him, and more interested in us BEING with him.
We make time for the things that we value.
Is your relationship marked more by doing than being?
Luke 10:40-42 (ESV)
40 But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”41 But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, 42 but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
Distraction leads to frustration for Martha.
What distractions in your life can you remove today, to help you focus on being with Jesus?
“Martha, Martha”
Jesus is the necessary choice.
Shift your focus from good things to the best thing.
Jesus’ presence provides peace.
Mark 4: 37-39 (NIV)
37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
How do you spend time with God?
 5-5-5 Rule (Prayer, Worship, Bible)
We serve Jesus out of the OVERFLOW of spending time in his presence!
Romans 10:9 (NIV) says, “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
