Little Big Things

This is America. We buy our drinks by the Big Gulp, cavernous SUVs for our Costco shopping trips, McMansions to display the bigness of our bank accounts.

But big isn’t really better. Often, it’s the little things that make the difference.

When God came to the prophet Elijah on the mountain it wasn’t in a great storm, an earthquake or a fire, it was as a gentle breeze. King David was the runt, the youngest of eight sons, a tender of sheep who ferried food to his brothers in the army. Yet it was David, armed with a small stone, who faced Goliath and won.

Jesus taught us that the little things, the tiniest gestures, should never be beneath us as he washed his followers’ feet.

What are the Little Big Things that can make a difference in your life?
